The project is based on the theme "The Affordable City”, whereby it consists of a sorting/ power plant factory that sorts out the trash and sends them to pre-existing recycling factories that burns organic waste to produce electricity.

The concept of the project is to provide a promising building to the city of Beirut, for it is the first factory to transfer waste into energy. Using the chimney’s required height and the size for the machinery, the massing of the building is formed with different heights creating green terraces overlooking the whole city of Beirut.
The projects' monumentality is presented by the massing and scale of the program.

The program compromises of a Visitors Center that has a temporary exhibition, as well a permanent one, workshop areas for children, an observation tower for users to view the city, and a nightclub that is suspended within the factory with outdoor terraces.

The exhibition space displays the history of trash and different art objects made from various recycling materials, in which many contemporary Lebanese and foreign artists can contribute and showcase their work within the context of the factory.

Both the factory and the nightclub are combined in one building whereby each compartment functions on its own.
